The traffic in the Central Trade District of Bangalore is expected to be expelled from the gear on Friday, as the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha will lead a protest rally against the alleged vote theft during the 2024 parliamentary elections, and in Freedom Park, is expected to lead a march in the Chief Electoral Officer’s office to present a memorandum.
Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivkumar, and many ministers will participate.
Traffic movement on roads passing through Shantala Junction, Khodis, Anand Rao Circle, Shashadari Road, Mysore Bank Circle, Chalukya Circle, Kalidasa Road and Maurya Junction has been banned, and vehicles will be converted to adjacent roads. Motor drivers have been advised to avoid these parts between 10 am and 5 pm on Friday and use alternative routes wherever possible.
The rally at Freedom Park will have snowball effects as well as traffic beyond CBD. Parking of all types of vehicles is prohibited between 10.30 am to 11.30 am on Old Airport Road, MG Road and Cuban Road and again between 3.30 pm and 4.30 pm.
City Police Commissioner Cement Kumar Singh said, “Detailed security arrangements have been made to ensure VVIP law and order and security, keeping in mind that it should not affect the traffic and members of the general public.
