Congress MLA Shivganga Basavaraj has appealed to the media house, affected and the general public not to spread rumors who can influence the reputation of the Dharmasthala in view of the alleged body buried case.
He told reporters at Davangre on Sunday, “There are a lot of news on mainstream media and social media, which tells about alleged burials in the forests near Dharmasthala or some bodies. It is affecting the reputation of religious and social institutions at the holy place.”
Dharmasthala Dharmadhikari Virendra Hegde is involved in social service activities, women empowerment and farmer welfare.
He said, “Such activities are complementary to social welfare being taken by governments. No one should forget this. The special investigation team should be allowed to work independently. But the current situation is disturbing,” he said.
The MLA took action against those who spread rumors against Dharmasthala.
