A person is on the seventh paradise after receiving a call from cricket legends Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers in Nondeskrippt Madagon village in Gariband district of Chhattisgarh, all once thanks to a SIM card used by the service provider after re -receiving it.
Twenty-few Manish Bisi, and his friend Khemraj, earlier thought that these were prank calls, thanks to the sheer unfairness of the series of events, but the reality happened when the Patidar himself was at the other end.
The effort with immediate fame began on June 28 when Manish, son of farmer Gajendra Bisi, bought a new Jio SIM from a mobile shop in Debog, about 8 km from his village.
When Khemraj helped install WhatsApp on the new SIM, the display picture was Patidar, who was an emerging star who captained the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) team in the IPL 2025 season.
While the pair initially rejected it as a mess, they were soon shocked by the calls of Kohli, de Villiers and Yash Dayal, although both of them believed to be realistic, which were part of some detailed mischief played by all these friends.
In fact, the pair was also played together, Khemraj claimed.
The story turned to his head, when on July 15, Patidar herself called an enthusiastic “brother, please return my sim”. Manish and Khemraj still believed that this was a mischief before realizing the seriousness of the Patidar, when he talked about sending the police to resolve the case.
A police team arrived a few minutes later, with a lid on any perception that it was a mischief.
Gariaband Deputy Superintendent Police Neha Sinha said that the sim was deactivated after 90 days of inaction, the SIM was inactivated and a new customer was re -handed over, who was Manish in the case.
“Manish was actually calling from cricketers who were in contact with the silver Patidar. Patidar informed the Madhya Pradesh Cyber Cell that his number was allotted to someone else and requested to return it,” he said.
MP Cyber Cell approached the Gerband police, who spoke with Manish and his family and with his consent, SIM was recently returned to the Patidar, informed by the deputy SP.
Sinha said, “There was no legal issue or fault on one’s part. It was only a result of standard telecommunications processes.”
For Manish, Khemraj and his families, meanwhile, the experience has been like “something out of a film”.
Khemraj, an enthusiastic fan of Kohli, said enthusiastically, “I never imagined that I would talk to Virat Kohli one day, and that too from our village. When AB de Villiers called, he spoke in English. We could not understand a word, but we were very thrilled.” “When Manish used to receive the call, he used to hand over the phone to me. The callers recognized themselves as Virat Kohli and Yash Dayal asked us why we were using Patidar’s number. We explained to him that we had bought a new SIM and this is our number,” Khemraj said.
The villagers are given a lot of happiness because most of the people here are RCB fans and are talking to legends like Kohli and de Villiers, which can be described and still feels like a dream, Manish’s brother Deshbadhu BC said.
“Even though all this was due to a mixture, this conversation got out of sheer luck. People only dream of seeing them, we got to talk to him,” said Deshbandu.
