Defense Minister Rajnath Singh said on Saturday (August 9, 2025) that India’s annual defense production has reached all high levels of 1,50,590 crore in 2024-25.
It marks an increase of about 18% compared to the total ₹ 1.27 lakh crore of the previous financial year.
Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra ModiMr. Singh said, India’s defense production has reached a record high level. “Annual defense production has increased to high figures of all time of ₹ 1,50,590 crore in the financial year 2024-25.”
In a social media post, a social media post said, “This number indicates an increase of 18% in production of 1.27 lakh crores in the production of the previous financial year, and had increased by 90% since 2019-20, when the figure was ₹ 79,071 crore.”
The Defense Minister appreciated all stakeholders including the “collective efforts” of the Department of Defense Production and Defense Public Sector Units and Private Industries, called “Landmark”.
“It is a clear indicator of strengthening the trajectory upwards to strengthen India’s defense industrial base,” he said.
