The Defense Acquisition Council headed by Defense Minister Rajnath Singh approved several procurement proposals worth about ₹ 67,000 crore to strengthen the country’s military preparations.
For the Indian Army, according to the Ministry of Defense (MOD), the acceptance of the requirement for the purchase of thermal image-based driver night vision for the BMP was approved (AON). This will increase the driving capacity of the BMP night and provide high mobility and operating benefits to the mechanized pedestrians.
For the Indian Navy, AON was given a compact autonomous surface craft, BrahMos fire control system and the purchase of launcher, and the Barak-1 point defense missile system was upgraded. The procurement of compact autonomous surface craft will provide the Navy capacity to detect hazards in anti-submarine war missions to the Navy.
For the Indian Air Force, AON was given to the purchase of mountain radar and upgradation of the competent/spider weapon system. The Mountain radar will increase the boundaries in the mountainous regions as well as air monitoring capacity. A statement in a statement stated that the upgrading of the facilitated/spider system for integration with the integrated air command and control system will increase air defense capacity.
AON was also given to the purchase of pilot aircraft (RPA) from far away for the purchase of moderate height long endurance (male) for three services. Proposed male RPAs can carry many payloads and weapons and work in a long range for long endurance missions. They will increase the round-the-clock monitoring and combat capacity of the armed forces.
In addition, DAC has also given AON to AON for the wide annual maintenance contract of C -17 and C -130J fleet and S -400 long range air defense missile system.
